Howdy

Well, I just done and bought a GSX650F. Moving up from a GS500F, what a machine!

It rips, it tears, it wades a sea of tractor-trailer trucks and doesn't bat an eye!

And the Two Brothers exhaust that came with it sounds magnificent!

And the centerstand that I just put on, well, it's on there!

As y'all know, adding a centerstand with aftermarket exhaust isn't very easy. However, I consider it a necessity.

The problem is the rubber bumper that is supposed to fit into a bracket connected to the OEM exhaust.

What I did instead (and at this time I have no means of connecting my cellphone/camera to my computer, my apologies...) was to super-glue a rubber slab to the side of the centerstand.

When the centerstand comes up, it impacts the bottom of my shock absorber. The rubber pad is a piece of heavy-duty truck mud flap. It's about a quarter inch thick and I cut it about 1.5" x 1.5".

This stuff is so tough, I kid you not, the reciprocating saw wasn't up to it. It took two men and a circular saw to get it apart.

How tough is the superglue? I reckon I'll find out when every pot-hole whacks the centerstand off the back of my suspension.

I thought I'd share my jerry-rigging. I'm also curious if anyone else here has attempted another means of attaching a centerstand but keeping their bitching aftermarket pipe

I did a similar thing...I Glued a larger piece to the entire face of the centre stand but used a thicker, medium compound rubber to absorb any impacts
and vibration against the stand while riding. Worked a treat.
Just looked like it was a normal part of the centre stand. I glued it on with Araldite and after 30,000k it was still going strong.

ya that works but..... When you hit bumps the center stand moves. So this means when the stand moves the kick part of the stand hits your foot (well it did on mine anyway) and i did not like it at all.
So i made a bracket that works off the exhaust clamp (some said it would not work) it's been thru one or 2 seasons and 10k miles and still just like the day i put it on works great.
There picks on here some where.

No help to those who already have a fancy exhaust, but for anyone thinking of ordering, I ordered a Yoshi R77 Bandit 1250 muffler, and it comes with the tab for the rubber centre-stand bumper. The exhaust fits the GSX perfectly and the tab looks factory.

Some of you folks are much craftier than I am.

BikerBoy,

Might I inconvenience you for more information on your arrangement? It sounds much nicer and more stout than my on-the-spot jerry-rig.

I'd really appreciate it :)
