I admire your toughness! The mirrors w/ integrated turn signals look great. Also like the extra decals ya put on. And when it gets a bit warmer we should get together for coffee, tellin' lies, and some riding!

How do you guys handle "black ice" on your roads, and how do you see it? We don't get a great deal of it in Australia which makes it worse if we do hit it because we generally arn't used to it. If you do hit ice, what do you do? Apart from shit yourself and fall down. I want that red coloured shed thats in the background of your 3rd picture. That would give me room for more bikes.
You are the man....... we still have to much salt on the roads here ... damn salt dust gets into everything , the cold dont bother me as i have the riding gear for it, but the salt , well ...... Glad you enjoyed the ride , Cheers Maurice

Hey there Phill north, Im from Alice Springs and have lived in Canada for sometime, Black Ice only occurs in certain conditions, and believe me you would be riding then, the biggest danger here with winter riding if the roads are dry is the damn sand at every intersection and corner that you come accross, I ride till they drop salt as the salt dust gets into every nook and cranny, lowest temp is around -16C, latest date ... jan 2nd, not this year though. Sand will give you such a pucker factor that they wil need a crowbar to remove your bum off the seat. Cheers, enjoy your summer .. Im envious !!!. Maurice

Seriously... I know exactly what you're feeling... hehe
Sweeeeeeeeeet... I thought I'm the only crazy rider out there. I have the same bike but in black. I took her for a ride 3 sundays ago right after a snow blizzard ended, and some rain fall... Loved it! every one was going crazy on the roads though as for the salt, it took me 3.5 hours to wash dry clean wax and polish her. Can you tell me where you found the integrated mirrors? do you have a relay? does it flash faster than usual? what about the flush mounts, where did you find them? Regarding the fender illiminator, how did you do it? I can't wait to upgrade mine, she will look just like yours but in black!!! I'm sorry about all the questions, it's just that I don't know a great deal of people that know about bikes. Cheers mate. keep riding, I know I will!

Good for you! We have had such a pleasant winter in the PNW. Average temps have been around 42F, except the couple of artic weeks in December. Spring will be here soon!

Hey Congrats man. Well first off those mirrors are off of a GSXR 600 (off of Ebay) and I had to custom fab brackets up so they're at the right angle to see behind the bike and so they fit on the bike, then I had to re-route the wire to connect the signals. No relay and they flash the same because it's just regular bulbs in the mirrors.
The flush mount LED signals (also an Ebay buy) aren't very bright and I just wired them in with the regular signals on each side. As for my rear LED tail light, I had to put resistors inline with the signal circuits to correct for the lesser draw of the LEDs. Those can be found at your local Radio Shack and are only a couple bucks.
And lastly, the fender eliminator. This can be a tricky job... I bought a kit off of Competition Werkes website, and it's actually the kit for a Bandit because the tail end of the two bikes are identical. This job involves hacking off the factory fender and relocating your stock turn signals if you don't have the integrated tail light. Here is the link for that: http://secure.compwerkes.com/Detail.bok?no=428
No worries about all the questions, I'm glad to help. I hope this can assist you on your bike mods. Careful out there with all the salt and sand on the roads!!
Thanx man!!! Your answers helped a lot but also confused me specially when it came to the fender eliminator I am planning for a trip to the tail of the dragon this year! Maybe you can meet me there! would be awesom! Identical bikes identical upgrades but diff colors.... Cheers and thanks again!
