Just wondering if anyone knows what the correct throttle body vacuum setting should be? I'm going to be doing the sync hopefully over the weekend & everything I've read just says to get them the same but surely there must be a preferred or correct reading. I remember seeing a post from Dhula suggesting 19-20 Hg but is this the correct setting?

The Suzuki manual makes no mention of a preferred setting or range. All it says is "equalize the vacuum of the cylinders". The intstructions that came with my carbtune suggest that you choose a cyclinder that has a vacuum in the middle of the range of all four to use as the reference, and syncronize to that. That's what I did when I did this about three weeks ago. I didn't even really pay attention to what the actual pressures were, and couldn't tell you what they were. I just got them all in sync and was done with it.

Smoosukiiiii don't give a tolerance for vacuum when doing a TB sync and I tried many many different readings to get something I thought was pretty good.
In the end I used a slightly different method that gave pretty good results IMO and makes life pretty easy I think
*Tighten the air bleed screws up to their stop (be gentle as it's easy to fuck them up so only till they JUST hit the stop) *Open (unscrew) them 2 full turns (4 half turns) *Fire up the bike and have a look a the vac gauges - there will be 2 reading high (usually 1 and 4) and 2 low (usually 2 and 3) and the idle will most likely be high *Adjust the high down to the low (the low ones will start to come up slightly) *Do minor, gentle adjustments to get them even across the board *If you have access to the right software/hardware, do a ISC learned value reset, if not put the bike together and ride to your dealer who can do it for you. *Your done.
You can try 2.5 turns as a start point but I found it doesn't make too much difference to the end result WRT smooth running

Gauges I borrowed from a mate had all sorts of numbers & readings on them so just got them all synched up & even. Have to wait for the weather to clear up to take it for a ride & see how it goes. Al.
