The Vista Cruise is the least expensive and the only one that uses the thumb to engage/disengage. The others are mounted on the bar end. I prefer to use my thumb and keep my hand on the throttle, hence why I own the Vista.

I like the thumb control too. I assume I can find the vista on line. Is it easy to install?
To introduce myself... I love motorcycle riding! This is my second bike. I had the Honda Ascot 500 in 1984 -- haven't riden since '86 or so. My husband and I just bought our bikes last year (yes, we took the safety course to get our license -- great investment). He has a Harley 1200 Sportster.
We live in Ocoee Florida and like "touring" the back roads.
We are planning a trip in July to the Smokie Mountains to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway and I wanted to get a throttle lock for cruising, or to just rest the right hand for a bit. I love the 650!
I also appreciate everyones information regarding the sargent seat, I am seriously considering getting one for our trip.

The Vista Cruise is inexpensive and convenient to use. The design has been around since the 70's (maybe under another name?) But is cluttered with erroneous hardware.
The Kaoko is a simple design but you only get one, I have this on my GSX650F right now.

Having used all 3, my personal choice is the MANIC Salimander, you get both bar ends for the price of one Kaoko. I have a set on my GS500F and after doing 362 miles in one day I can safely say it works well http://www.manicsalamander.com/throttle_lock.htm
