why the down size.

if it's rego then in most states the cost is about the same when comparing 500 to 650
fuel won't be that much difference
bout the biggest saving might be insurance depending on what you get to ride

to give a bit of advice on which bike might suit your needs we'll need to know if you intend staying on the blacktop or are thinking of venturing to the dirt.

I was only thinking of the road myself, getting around the city, some highway. The reason for the smaller bike is costs. Any help is appreciated. May just get a small scooter depending on costs

Hi mate ,not sure if we have any members here from Brisbane .
This is a brisbane based forum called ozports bikes.
http://www.ozsportsbikes.com/.
They will be able to help you with rego costs or where to buy ,good dealers etc .

http://www.bikesales.com.au/?rs_ref=ppc

Will give you an idea of bike prices ...you can pick up a good GS500 for $4000.
They arn't the fastest bikes I had one ,but you can tour or commute and play on the weekends in the twisties.

If you have any questions just ask ,we'll all help you out ..no worries.

Leaving Canada for SUNNY Oz............good on ya mate !!

Good luck with the move and I hope you can find what you are looking for in transport. Probably better without a scooter, Brisbane drivers are ??????, so a reasonable sized bike with a bit of grunt would be best.

Cheers. :D

Hi I live in Ipswich which is only around 25 k from Brisbane. Rego costs for both 650's that I have are $429.00.. Insurance can vary quite a lot, depending on what company you go with and if you have up to 60% no claim bonus, I pay around $430.00 for my gsx650f and that is with Swan Insurance and I pay $340.00 for my Burgman 650 with Suncorp. Of course I have the full no claim bonus. I hope this helps you.

Regards Bob Powell.
