Went for a nice ride last week end with a friend who has a CBR900 - bike had 1800 miles on it - 80°F on flat road. According to the Gearing commander website - top speed should be around 127 mph with the gearing it has.
Unofficial top speed: 138 mph showed on the speedo at redline in 6th - if we figure in speedo error of 10% that would be about 125 mph for real. Bike was stable as a rock - no head shake on decel.

According to the MC News review top speed is 132.5 mph - looks like my 138 is pretty close to actual even with speedo error considered.
I am hoping to get a GPS Verified top speed soon

Dont you guys have signs on the side of the road which shows the length of that highway.
On our highways we have hectometer signs. Every 100meters theres a road sign. So I can measure 2.0km very easily. Drive 120km/h (75mph) and if its exactly 1 minute the speedo is correct, if not. Recaculate
Heard about speedo error's going up to 10% on Suzuki bikes.

I'm with Kadet and Paul, I hit triple digits on a bike and I'm happy to back off. I'm out there for a good time -- not a fast time. I'll leave top speed to the rest of you!

You know when you get one of those days and you just wanna know what will you bike do, WELL. Went out yesterday with my son as pillion and my friend on his BMW 1200. There is a nice road where we live, that leads into the town. One thing lead to another and before you notice anything, we were doing 120mph (2 up).
Son said he was fine, just tucked himself in behind me, while we swept around gentle bends, using the full road of a dual carriage way.
The sun was shining (for a change), and I have to agree with the others. The bike just felt so good at speed it inspired confidence, But hey, it was fun for the moment, will be a long time before I try that again.

You three are NUTS
I hit triple digits the other day and was more than happy to scale back and let you speed demon's have the top end. I'm fine living vicariously through your high speed!

I've seen 135 on the top end on the track. I was fortunate enough to take the bike in street trim to Lowes Motor Speed Way in Charlotte NC. After 8 laps of warming her up and heating tires and getting use to seeing white lines, and painted walls, REALLY REALLY CLOSE I tuned the wick up high and lite it. 135 was where it topped out at. I did see 138 for split second, but was able to hold 135 down the back stretch. I'm sure with a little modifications, (Tires, exhaust and little tuning) 140 to 145 is not out of the question.
Not bad for a bike that I rode to the track and then rode home.....

On the top end note, we're planning to do the exhaust, tires and tuning to a friends and then put it back on the tack and see there the top end is. I'll keep every one informed.
