Hi guys i have looking at a few posts on adjusting TPS & syncing throttle bodies because my bike suffers badly from on/off throttle and not very smooth acceleration but i have ran into a problem. I cannot adjust the TPS if i turn it clockwise or anticlockwise it makes no difference to the _C00 on the clocks. If i move the throttle a tiny bit it moves to -C00. So i gather there is not enough movement in the TPS sensor to get it set up properly, so my question is there any other way to adjust this? Thanks in advance.

take a round needle file, and gently remove some material from the holes in the TPS mount, then readjust! be very patient with this. but it'll work, eventually.

If you are getting movement in the TPS it should make a change. Did you loosen the throttle cable off at the bars before you started adjusting. I found the TPS hardly had to move to get a change on my bike.

Ooh. good point. I keep a close eye on my thottle cable/handle, and how it acts, so I never had a problem there, but that's an excellent point whitey. SEE ABOVE!

make sure you wait a short (second or 2) time before checking the dash readout. The dash can sometimes be a little slow to catch on that the TPS has moved

also another thought, make sure you remove the tool your using to loosen/tighten the screws from the TPS, especially if it is magnetic as it can have an effect on the reading sent to the ECU and dash readout from my experience.
re the elongating of the TPS holes. Never needed to do it to any of the ones I've done. Before you do this, take it to a dealer that has SDS to check the actual numerical reading of the TPS or if you ahve/know someone that has the healtech OBD tool this will tell you the numerical reading as well. Should be 27.9 from memory or something like that but a good dealer will know.

Hi guys no still in trouble will have to go to a dealer to get the reading off SDS. A friend who is a bike mechanic was looking with me he is not sure whats up either. What im not sure about is how little adjustment there is normally in any other bike ive had there is much bigger holes which allows alot more movement.
