I hear that rim lights are all the go bling wise in the US these days? Not sure if it's true as I'm quite out of touch with my fellow Yanks after living in Aus for 24 years now.

The laws here are bit restrictive about these things giving the nanny state mentality of Gov in Australia. A local guy here who is getting quite a good reputation for going out and starting his own Kevlar pants product line as well as gloves and carbon helmets is testing kits for resale.

His first tests are with LEDs of course and they look great. He asked me to take some videos of them for him which I had great fun doing. I think you guys are going to really like the mono the stunt rider did on his bike at the end of one clip. :-)

Next week he is going to test a different approach which sounds interesting and it looks like my GSX650F is going to be one of the test bikes. It's rim tape that glows. He mounts one bright LED on the inside of the swing arm and that charges them up while you are riding. He says they are quite bright and look as good as LEDs. The good part is that kits for something like that will be quite reasonably priced in comparison to full LED installations.

Gee, sounds like I'm a salesman huh. No such thing though. Just a guy who does lots of bike related video stuff (I'm actually an ex commercial photographer from California) that thinks this stuff is cool.

Anyway, nerdy or not, I think this stuff looks great. Here a few vids I've done while trying to put together something he can use to promote the product:

Initial video tests:

A second go at tests:

Trying to come up with something commercial looking but fun:

That last one has the stunt rider from 'Cunning Stunts' at the end. They are fairly well known around here for putting on very cool demos at rider events.

Looks good. In the last video I think the it should be Motolegion without the "r". You have it as Motorlegion.

And yes, his kevlar jeans are very good. They made a nice birthday present for me last month.

Great video Darrell.

Legal is the problem he will have ...got to be legal coulour or half of the market won't bother.
I think they look good for a bit of a laught and to stand out.
Can you turn them off and on with a handle bar switch ??,I would get some to make me seen in the fog I ride in ...you can't see 5 meter in front of you day or night.

The lights are basically white which he's been told is legal. Apparently if you stay away from blue and red the cops will leave you alone.

As for a switch, they have a remote control which controls on/off and blinking as an option as in the shot of the stunt driver doing a mono. All those other lights on the bike are extras he put on that he doesn't use while riding but they are also controlled by remote. He was actually switching the mode on the bike while standing at the side of the road while the stunt rider and I were doing that shoot.

Takamii is a clever man and a responsible business man. He won't put anything dodgy on the market. If it's not legal he won't bother.

Yeah I "know" Tak and am a big fan of Motolegion (note the spelling... ;)); currently saving for my very own RHOK...
I prefer the other vid I've seen, but can't find on the other forum right now - will post the link when I do...

Remote is a good idea.

Are you referring to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-6QBuFoesw

That's one of mine as well. I've done quite a few tests and a few have 'leaked' out.

Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake. The words were actually just place holders until Takamii got around to giving me what he wants. That vid isn't actually public.

I've got a final draft going up tomorrow but it's all footage you've seen just with different editing.

Here's a new one that I'm awaiting Takamii's approval on. What do you think?

LED car lights are the latest trend in the illumination of cars both as functional lights and décor ones. Functional LED car lights are installed by factories more frequently and in a growing range.
