Alright. got my bike steaming hot and changed the oil today, long overdue from the summer. I pulled a plug and checked it, I'm getting ready to change the plugs to NGK iridiums, but I want your opinions, does this look terribly lean, and should I consider a colder plug?
the flash makes it look a lil more gray, but it -is- very distinct.
grey is good, and if there are no problems in engine performance I'd stick with the stock temperature range. The ECU with the fuel injection tends to keep the worry out of it for me, unlike when I had a carb'd bike with a simple mechanical ignition system. If it was really lean, really white, that may not be the plug, but the fuel system, or other factors. I tend to trust the computer to manage changes for optimal performance.

yeah... it was whiter in the photo as well. I even wiped it off and it wasn't as white as it appeared in the photo. CR8EIX going in. We'll see if this brings some spank to the throttle reponse and pull. I gotta say losing 30 pounds outta my ass, it really gets up and screams through the first 2 gears. hahaha. 10 pounds to go.
it feels remarkably more fast with these latest few mods. When I get the chain & sprocket upgraded to race weight 520 specs, I think it's gonna fly! I also think my original dyno sheet was reading very low from the old beat up chain & sprocket combo. one night I took it out and really stretched it's legs and it managed like 132 mph down my top secret test stretch in the boonies, I went directly home with the chain red hot, and lubed it, and it did 144 directly after. I think the dyno got mussed by my old drivechain components. I might get a new pull and sheet made this spring and make sure the air/fuel is just so with the short intake runners I'm going to make for the airbox. I get the feeling those long ass torque oriented intake runners are robbing a horsepower or maybe even two up past 11sies. Only one way to find out.
I'm also gonna remove every ounce of worthless weight outta it. No center stand, no extra bolts here and there, no toolkit, no water block bracket, no GPS related equipment, PAIR equipment gone, ect ect; and take it back to the dragstrip set to kill. That girl might have a high 11 in her, we'll just have to see.

U might go with a RK chain, and try the the "HONDA PRO chain lube" i felt a difference when i did the rk with the honda lube. yes your plugs look great, yet is on the ECU lean side.

Is that... an "old man's stand" under her??? Really??? So I'm not the only one with it?
Your plug looks like it just came out of a modern EFI engine... in other words perfectly ok. Cold plugs show as wet and oily, occasionally misfiring and such... Hot ones will show heat damage (cracked insulator nose etc.) and will cause premature ignition and detonation. I'm sure nobody would fail to notice explosions and fire coming OUT of the airbox intake... So stay with the same heat range.
And how is it going with Iridium plugs? Better, worse, same... ?

There's no more popping in the exhaust, for starters. when I was off the gas, I'd get some load up, and crackle, occasionally fire outta the muffler at certain rpm's from removing the catalyst and everything. The iridiums are creating a much better and more complete combustion and I haven't experienced any of that since installing them.
I found that center stand on ebay for 40 bucks shipped, if you'll believe that. lol.
