I thought I would take a ride to Nerriga it's near the Southern highlands ,then turn do a large loop and back home ,around 400km trip ...,had a quick look on the google maps ,printed it off and left home at 10am.
I headed down the coast to Nowra ..Via Jambaroo ,great ride threw there and stoped at Berry for fuel.
Here's the pubs and bottle shop...need a case of beer and a hub cap this is the place.

Any they are old Surf life saving row boats in the roof.

I arrive in Nowra and stoped to check the maps as these were new roads to me and ...yep ..I left the map at home in my rush to get going.
So already semi lost with just an idea which way I needed to head ,I meet up with riders on the road side and they give me a short cut to get back to where I should of been on the Braidwood rd that heads to Nerriga.
Here is the short cut 5km of dirt

...so being lost and on dirt I keeped going ,its wasn't to bad ,just sat on 60km ,But it was bad in some spots and no sharp corners and didn't need to brake on the gravel at all.

So with the help of some fellow rides advice I found the Braidwood road and off to Nerriga pub...open roads no traffic and good twisties and long sweeper ,much fun was had

.
I arrived at the Pub at 12.30pm ,so it was a good 2.5 hour ride to get here .
The old timber pub with a nice log fire as it was getting cold in the highlands.

The wheel of wisdom and bullshit is what the sign said ...you could imagine 6 old pissed farmers taking shit around the fire on a friday night.

And this is a Ned Kelly ,the bush ranger tribute.
The metal helmet and metal chest plate was his way of stopping the cops shooting him ,but it didn't work ,he got shot and went to prison and they hung him a few years later.
He's like a Robin Hood ,to alot of Aussies .

After warming up from the fire in the pub and chatting to some fellow riders ,I found the info of where to head next and off I went...this time with winter gloves and a balaclava.

.
These roads where abit more real country roads ,lots of pot holes, cow shit and road kill every where...so taking it semi easy ,waiting for Skippy the bush kangroo to throw him self under my front wheel. I made it off the back country roads to a semi OK back country road

.
So ripping along and enjoying the fast open sweepers and come around the corners and I see a freaken HUGE brown snake right on my line of the corner

, hit the brakes and missed it by a foot ,I almost kicked it in the head with my boot ,it was that close.
I was more worried it would bite me ,then me hit it and loose traction.
The things can kill..."INFO" from google.
"""""Brown snakes ...Dangerous to man. Bites from this species of snake have caused death within minutes, rather than hours or days, with even a juvenile (new born) potentially delivering enough venom in a single bite - to kill 20 adults. """"
So abit shaken up from encounter with the snake ,I stoped and had a smoke and look some pics ...

Finding my way back to a highway and trying to find the other ,fun back roads to head me towards home ,it started to rain ,so that plan went out the window and I super slabed it on the high instead and rode home.
390KM ,5 Hours and a fun day out.
Sorry about the spelling a grammer ,I left school to young
Sled.
