Its been a while, but I finally got around on test riding the Speed Triple. I was planning to first ride the Street Triple R and directly after that the Speed but I choose the Speed right away. Its been 16hours since the test ride and the smile hasn't gone off my face What a sublime piece of engineering that bike is... OMG!!!
Torque peaking from as low as 1500-2000rpm and from 4k the grunt of the engine takes over. Since the bike is fitted with Racetec K3 tires (semi slick) I couldn't go all out steering wise but the whole chassis feels so connected to the road. The brakes are marvelous with the radial Brembo Brakes/Master Cylinder. The only problem is getting my 650F sold
This is how its gonna look, except for the low Arrow full exhaust system, thats to pricey for my taste (1200 Euro!!). I'm gonna fit a Zard or Leovince Low Exhaust.

That looks fantastic. All the reviews I've seen have been very postive. Excellent choice. But I hope you still hang around here!

Yesterday I attended a Triumph event outside Toronto, and spent about 40 minutes riding a Street Triple R over a variety of roads and I am blown away! What a fantastic bike. It was weird at first, because it doesn't have a "nose" like the GSX, it feels like you are sitting right over the front wheel, but I got used to that quickly. The throttle response was amazing. Really, I'm not sure I'd swap the exhaust because the stocker sounded great to me, especially over 4 or 5K when it really started to growl, and eventually shriek. Sublime. Transmission and clutch were effortless and precise, handling and ride were great, and I didn't miss having a fairing, even though the last third of the ride was in rain. Very stable bike, light, flickable, I really can't say anything negative about it other than I did notice heat coming off the engine more than I'm used to. I'm thinking the fairing on my bike contains it more, and I'm wondering how hot that would make me feel when the temp is up past 30C and humid here. But really, that's a small quibble considering how fantastic the rest of the experience was. Sadly, I didn't get to try the Speed, but now I want to! The street was the perfect hooligan bike, great for town, Sunday morning blasts, but I'm not sure how it would handle moderate touring or what luggage options there would be. But brother, it's tempting. Lucky I don't have the money right now...
Hey Kadett, did you get your Trumpet? Updates?
