I've only had my bike for a week or so and I can already see a few minor scratches on the tank. Between my jacket, my crotch, and my knees clamping on the tank I don't stand a chance. What do you guys do for tank scratch protection?
I've seen vinyl tank protectors but they don't look so good. I have also seen the decal looking stickers that go on the tank in the crotch area.

i use a progrip protector for up close on the tanl for belt buckles. Dont worry about sides of tank. I know some peeps put some of that thin plastic film over tanks

I had the same problem on my bike, it is also the faster black bike. After the first couple rides I noticed small scatches in the same area. They polished out easily with a cleaner wax. I put on a Progrip sticker and that seems to do the trick. The sides don't seem to be a problem. I grip the sides of the tank pretty tight with my legs, no scatchs yet.

I just took mine off last night while cleaning my bike. I'll put it back on tonight and snap a photo for you. Which color bike do you have Black or Blue?

Got the universal set on their web site and just choose a pattern that they send you ( they send you a bunch ) and cut them out. Then i took a dremel and shaved down the outside edges. They are simply awesome !

I also use the carbon-fiber looking tank bra from Suzuki. It does good job of protecting paint and looks ok on my black bike. But I really like Judd's Tech Spec pads w/ the dremel mod!
