I am the original owner of a 2008 GSX650F that I purchased as a leftover model in 2009. The bike is black and silver with less than 100 miles. I added the following options. Scorpion exhaust, rear hugger fender, center stand, red wheel stripes and some custom pin stripes (tape that is easily removed) The bike has a custom cover. It was never used in the rain and is kept in a climate controlled garage. There is not a mark or scratch on it....perfect as new condition. I'm getting too old and no longer trust myself on a bike. Any idea what would be a fair selling price??

4200-4500 would be a fair price. you might find the Right buyer at 5, but a non-race-replica bike, under 1000cc's just doesn't hold it's value like you'd think, even though they're infinitely more useful than the R bikes.... I would start at 5 thousand, and and let someone think they got over on me for 4500 or whatever.

That's quite the classy bike though. you took the goony graphics, and legitimately encorporated them into the rest of the bike until it really just works. I really like that, and I'm not a fan of busy bikes. Kudos, and I Hope you find someone to appreciate it as you have.

Greetings from "Melbourne" Australia! :D

How is selling (anything) second-hand generally in the US these days? As tough as the international media says, or not so bad? Over here this model sits on the shelves for quite some time, so depends how keen you are to move.

Or just keep it for the grand kids (one day, fuel will be too expensive, so there'll be far less SUVs to worry about); it is a great machine after all!

Cheers and good luck, Matt

My local dealership gives around the same price (-$1,000 a year almost) They say they are only getting 2 bikes instead of 7. If they sell the 1 or two, Japan will only ship the quantity sold. No choice in color. Cost of bikes went up and they aren't selling as fast. Harder to get a loan for one as well. Dealerships also don't have an extra bike to trick out for bike nights to spur potential sales either. I comute on my bike (93 miles each way) because it's cheaper on gas and... well, I love to ride.

I picked up my '08 with around 2500 miles on it and paid $4200, the bike was mint but close to stock and I felt like it was a good price. I mean I couldn't even find any other ones for sale at the time but the ones that I saw from old ads were priced slightly higher and were in worse shape, they also didn't include any accessories. I agree with what was said above, list it for $5000 and I bet you'll get plenty of emails.

I guess you used my post to sell your bike to someone who was interested in buying mine....thanks for nothing !!

PS; I guarantee the buyer would have gotten a much better price on mine.

Psssst.....I think RushX was referring to your motorcycle, not his. And it's Chris in Winston Salem, NC lol. No chris winston.

My bike is still available. Mr Wilson had offered me only $4,000. I can't let it go for less than $4500 considering all the options I have on it and the low mileage new condition. Besides the Scorpion Titanium Exhaust, center stand, hugger rear fender, custom cover and pinstripe that I mentioned in my original post it has the mirror extensions and foam comfort grips. I will be listing it on Craigs list and possibly ebay.
