I've always been a Shoei guy, & wore a Synchrotec for years, but when time for a new hat came 'round last year, NewEnough Leather had a closeout on HJC Symax II for $129.00. A buddy had one that looked pretty good, so I bit. I think it's 95% of the Shoei at 1/3 the price. I'm happy.

I use the arai profile in shiny black with no graphics it matches my black bike. I believe arai is top of the line and this helmet is good for an up right riding position.

Hey Folks, Thanks for all your replies, so I've got news on my helmet chapter... I'm now having 5 My Family gave me the best Christmas, one can ask for, I've got a Leather suite (2 Piece) and a few helmets. As I had wished, I got a Craft RXX3, kind of the Top Gear's Stig helmet:

Great reviews, great quality, though it seems as that this company is not doing much anymore, at least not past 2010. No comes the biggest, diss.... though they bought the XL version for me, this helmet doesn't conform to the shape of my head, which is round like a bowling ball but more oval in shape the head has to be, so this helmet will fit. Meaning my top parts of the cheeks got stuck and by trying this helmet on several times, once on, it fit very well, yet taking it off, gave me road rash on my face.... ARGH, what a beautiful helmet. Well anyways, I got frustrated and got me 2 more helmets for comfort Here are my buys:
#1 Bell Vortex:

#2 TORC T22 Bluetooth

Both helmets are AWESOME. The Bell I got, being a retired Air Force NCO, the TORC, to sooth my wife, since she wanted one too, so I decided to get 2 of those, his and her so to speak. The advantage is, we can use the bluetooth as a intercom, when we are riding, which is a true plus.
this is why people buy arai. You are sure to find a helmet that fits you're head shape and get the best protection on the market. They are pricey but you get what you pay for in arai.

When I saw this helmet, I had to have it, strangely enough, somewhat this helmet looked familiar to me and felt like I've worn it already, which I know I didn't, that's what I thought . Well the went off, as I placed it on my shelf for safe keeping. It's the same model than my Vemar helmet...... too funny how that plays sometimes, anyways, as I have deep ties in to the military just complements it. Especially since I'm now part of the Patriot Guard Riders of Washington.

Well the Jolly Rogers is or was an Navy Fighter squadron...thought you were Army...When I was flying F-14's they were VF-84. During the Clinton downsizing the name Jolly Roger went to VF-103 in 1995. It is now VFA-103 flying the Super Hornet. And, thanks for your service, I had a hell of time during mine.
Thank you TomCat Vet for your service, I actually was Air Force Field Intel, married me a Army girl which was retired after 30 Years as 1SG. I retired as SMSGT. The TomCat is for me still and as of today the best fighter ever build EVER!!, Sure you've got the FA18 or the YF22 'n such, but for me, the TomCat still rules. I've got a model in my showcase from the Jolly Rogers on their last flight. I guess I was too influenced by Top Gun way back when I spend a day at the avionic exhibition of the Smithsonian at Dulles, I couldn't believe it when I for the first time in my life could touch a TomCat, boy that got me all going Though Air Force, I've always had great relation with Navy aviators, I have a close "combat" buddy of mine, he was at Miramar NAS, never made it to Top Gun though, but alone the sound of this name gets me going!!! I've got a original flight hat from it.

A bit out of the way for you, but if you ever get to Wright Patterson AFB off of I70 in Dayton Ohio it is pretty good. As is the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola FL. And as an added benefit the American Motorcycle Hall of Fame is pretty close to Dayton off of I70. I teach college now and I keep two diplomas on my wall, my undergrad and my Top Gun diploma. It was a heck of a time as I spent almost 15 years flying at Miramar. Great riding around there too through the mountains and such.
Boy TomCat Vet you have me all drooling, you're making my day. Visiting Dayton and the aviation museum and Motorcycle Hall of Fame is one of my bucket list items. I'm planning to haul ass from Olympia to Chicago we then will pick up our son on his cruiser, from there to Dayton and head for the Dragon's Tail. I've got with Mt Rainier and Mt St. Helens already the baby versions of it, but I want that T-Shirt!!!

not necessarily, I tried several arai and couldn't stand the fit, we even swapped out chin pads to match tops, etc.

I've been drolling over the RHOK 'Pride' helmet for some time. These are helmets made of fibre carbon and they are very light. Anyway, I went to look at one yesterday and it's even better looking than in the photo. Had to try it on and now all I have to do is come up with the cash. But it's my next helmet for sure.

This is some sweet looking helmet, made out of carbon fiber, will indeed make it super light and sturdy.... Nice choice.
