Finally managed to change it... I put it at 6k rpm for the first 600km :)

Tip for other people having trouble: don't forget to put it in neutral  I'm quite sure I tried it in neutral before, but somehow managed to fxck it up anyway (or maybe I just didn't notice it was in 'set' mode, nothing shows up on the display until you press the adjust button)

Thanks for the confirmation, Sleddog :)

Without intent to hijack this thread ( )... I'm having troubles changing the gear shift indicator too. The manual said: 'Press and hold the select button, then turn on the contact. Hold the button for more than 2 seconds to change the settings.' (translated from dutch)

I tried that, and it didn't work... It just performed the startup checks and started the fuel injection, as if no button were pressed. By 'turning on the contact' they do mean turning the key to 'ON', not starting the engine, right? (holding the clutch, pressing the 'select' button and pressing the button to start the engine requires 3 hands, so that seemed to be a bit too complicated ;))

BTW In my manual it's section 2-12 and 2-13, not 3-12...

Yours is probably not in English either. :D

Both the dutch and english version have it on 2-12/13 :) Haven't checked the french one though...
(I read the english one too, because the dutch version has some weird/incomplete translations)
Oh well, doesn't matter :) They probably differ by region...

You read about some bikes and the reviewers give you their setting for front and rear shocks etc.

So whats your setting.

#1-YOUR weight .....
#2-Your height.....
#3-Front if ajusted..
#4-Rear shock 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.
#5-Rev RPM light gear shift indicator....

Please note ..if you pillion and or tour {setting up for carry extra weight} ,please say so. 8)

120kg with clothes on :P
201cm
front at 6
rear factory set (cause I couldn't budge it), but I'll put it on 5 or 6
8000

This bike suits me really good now that I got my clip-ons setup sorted. I mean - really really good. Last sunday I went for a cruise with friends from work and they commented that I actually look ok on it... as opposed to a rather large guy on a little Ninja 1000 ;)

So I'm 5'7"
135lbs
front is set at 4 I believe
and the rear is on the lowest setting possible LOL!
shift light comes on at 8500rpms because it was blinding me on the interstate at lower RPMS

I really need to mess with some of the other settings on the rear shock to get it tuned in right, on the factory settings it's just sprung way too stiff for my weight.

#1- 270#
#2-5' 11"

#4-Rear shock - I have no idea how to read it, I know the ring is on the top, but I cant see the locking notch to know what its on...
#5-I'm guessing mine is set really high because I've never seen it come on but have had the bike pretty high in the rpms

There is a metal tab welded on the side of the shock housing, but it's hard to see cause it's painted black as the rest of the frame. Look carefully just inside the metal ring with numbered slots.

Check if there is a symbol similar to flash symbol on camera shown near the gear indicator. If not, means your shift light is in the "no light" mode. Look through the manual how to activate and set it.

I use the bike mainly for the commute to work, occasional pleasure ride when the B&C doesn't whinge.

#1-weight .....128kg = 280lbs

#2-height.....6'4"

#3-Front not ajusted..

#4-Rear shock 6. Just adjusted today from 3. Man, what a difference. Bike feels planted and true.

#5-Rev RPM light gear shift indicator....Do not use - otherwise I would set it at 12000 and use it as a target in every gear (lost license in 2nd, not cool), rather than ride to the conditions

Just for the heads up, If one disconnects the Instrument cluster, all the selectable settings will be lost, so when your cruzin' and wondering why the shift light wont come on.... then realize you you may be exceeding the speed limit by 50 mph..... this is why....
