Got a Triumph T140V, an old Vmax and an 02 Fazer 1000 - but wanted something for distance in comfort that was also fun and not as heavy as a Pan European etc. Still playing with the seat - apart from that the GSX is ideal even 2 up with luggage.
New 2008, $3999.00, Approx. 75 Rear wheel horse power, Suzuki reliability, plus GSX Looks,, put on 4500 miles in 10 weeks, 1 - 2200 mile trip, NO PROBLEMS, as good a bike as my C50, only faster!!!!!

Was a user friendly and logical step up from a Kawasaki GPX 250cc. Took it for a test ride and had a grin from ear to ear. Signed on the dotted line 30 mins later.
Love the 6OO/650 size bikes for the performance/weight and handling. Could have gotten a Busa but opened my mouth how fast and powerful they are and my wife told me "get off the bike". I had already chosen the 650F because of the the way it fit me (the GSXR seems like a pocket rocket when I sat on it) and the value. Have over 23k miles on the bike and still lov'in it. Makes my commutes to work (over 30 miles one way) a lot quicker and more fun.

I voted most of the above. Since this is my first bike, I can honestly say that learning on it has been very easy. The bike handles very well and I havent noticed the "extra weight" being an issue at all yet. After taking the MSF and learning how to do slow maneuvers properly, there doesn't seem to be any real down sides to the weight. Like others have said before I love how it handles in windy areas. My wife bought a Ninja 250R and has complained about how she has to adjust for the windy areas whereas I barely notice much of a difference. I love the look of the bike and also the fact that it is part touring, don't know if I could handle the sport riding position all the time.
Because it had the riding position closest to the Kz 1300 which had been the last bike I had ridden over 28 yrs before I got this one. Absolutely love riding my 650F. Made about a 350 mi. round trip yesterday and feel fine today, lol. I really prefer the "standard" riding stance. I could go on forever: Lots of power (I weigh 240 lbs); Looks great; Perfect size and weight; Smooth handlng; Good MPG... Etc... And so forth. I think I really like it. I'll turn over the 17K mi mark on it if I take it out tomorrow. Should have more on it, but I didn't get to ride too much the last 6 mths.

I got mine because my Harley just isn't that great on a 100 mile round trip commute. I was looking for a sport-tourer or mild sport bike. Came really close to an older Katana but then starting looking at the 650Fs. 1 popped up at a good price and I jumped on it. Love the feel of it and coming from an all cruiser background, it's not so powerful that I can't control it(or myself)

New Rider and didn't want to buy a used bike with problems. The 650F was only 2000,- more then used bikes I looked at (Honda CBR600F4i for instance). So I got a brand new bike and didn't have to worry about a beaten up bike. The 650F was the cheapest new bike there was
Will do this for my next bike as well. That way I know the bike has been taken care off.
