Wanted a 650 because it is my first bike. Liked the way it felt when I sat on it. I use it to commute. And my wife had a SV650 or 600 cant remeber so she was pretty adiment about me getting a Suzuki. Plus it was cheaper than a GSXR.

New Rider and didn't want to buy a used bike with problems. The 650F was only 2000,- more then used bikes I looked at (Honda CBR600F4i for instance). So I got a brand new bike and didn't have to worry about a beaten up bike. The 650F was the cheapest new bike there was
Will do this for my next bike as well. That way I know the bike has been taken care off.
I had a GS500f and wanted a stronger engine with more weight for a smoother / more stable ride at higher speeds (highway). I made a list of bikes that met the required specifications and I found a GSX650f with very limited miles and the guy was desperate to sell. Thus I'm an owner.

I ended up with mine becasue I had a 1998 VL1500 with 11k miles that i'd put up for sale or trade. $4000 obo and a guy offered me the 08 650 with 800 miles straight trade.

I traded the bandit S 2001 in for this bike.
Heh, so did I. Same year, same bike.
My local Suzuki dealer offered me $1000 more for my trade in than anyone else, so I was determined to buy something from him. I wanted a mid sized, liquid cooled bike with EFI. The SV650 was too physically small, the vstrom 650 was too ugly but the 650F was just right.
