Everything came in the mail today... New windscreen: Rim stripes and my new stand: I also noticed that my levers have been cut down from stock... I'm slowly discovering things the previous owner has done.

Or he dropped the bike on both sides breaking the ends of the levers in the progress. Also think its pretty dangerous riding around with those levers, your fingers can slide of the levers very easily. Especially when its wet so I suggest replacing them ASAP.

Copy cat..
Looks good though. Did you enjoy removing the nine hundred screws to replace the windscreen? How about those rubber grommets that the windscreen mount to? Those are a delight!
Go ahead and do the fender chop..

How are fingers going to slide off of the levers lengthwise without taking the rest of your hand along with them? Which is of course, a larger problem then My levers are also shortened, I see no reason for them to be as long as they were when stock

I was reading the how to that is in the list with all the others, and it said the hard part was taking the instrument cluster out, then it merely stated that the rubber pieces simply came out and went back in. That was the biggest pain... especially the ones inside the fairing. I plan on ordering chain and sprocket, new fender, and integrated mirrors tomorrow.
Ah ok. I've heard that those ebay integrated mirrors are composed of cheap plastic.
I, too, want to do something different with the mirrors, and the route I decided to go (I think) is going to be using the stock mirrors with the MetrickMetals adjustable mirror mounts. I like the stock mirrors - the quality of them and everything, I just don't like how they stretch vertically up and don't flow with the lines of the bike. With the new mirror mounts, I think I can angle them down and outward, thus fixing my problem with them!

Ever ridden in the rain so that your gloves are soaking wet, they slide easily then, thats what the knobs in the end is for. For me its also because I dont have very big hands (size
Kadett Yes I have but between the leather of my gloves and the rubber on the grip my hand does not slide around The biggest problem I have is the arthritis in my fingers makes it difficult to bend them sometimes which has resulted in the lever popping out from under them, but this motion was forward and the ball on the end made no difference
I wanted to bend the levers straight as I think the outward flare of them was in my way also, but now that they are shorter it is not so much of an issue
Ride safe

I get really bad cramps in my palm when Im just clutching around in stop and go traffic (about 15 mins a day 10 times a week going on base to work in the morning and after lunch) would a different lever style or just bringing the lever closer to the grip possibly help? I always used a trigger style lever in bmx, is something like this shape available? Its designed specifically for one finger pull:
Interesting idea capflip I have mine as close as the bike will allow but some days are worse then others for me and I cannot do much if anything about it. Does it not get easier for you with more riding?

Brands like Pazzo, Titax, ASV make levers in short and long versions and can be adjusted in length just as ours can but some brands (I dont know precisely which ones) can adjust the levers further to the handlebar then the stock levers.

so far it has not gotten better. I think its from having my hand stretched out so far to be in the friction zone for extended periods of time. I thought maybe if I could achieve one finger pull or maybe bring the lever in further it wouldn't be as far of a strain or stretch to maintain the friction zone for traffic.

Capflip -- Your windscreen looks great. Which type of Puig windscreen do you have (Standard, Racing, Touring)? I'm trying to decide which windscreen to purchase. I need to get the wind blast higher up than it is with the stock screen. I think I'd like to get the Puig Touring but haven't found a vendor for it in the USA. I'm also considering the MRA Vario Touring screen, so I'm trying to decide which way to go.
