Check out these videos. They are of two different guys taking a spirited ride on a 400cc standard bike (Honda CB400SF - sold in Asia and Australia and New Zealand). This bike has about 30 horsepower LESS than the GSX650.
Because there are so many obstacles in the "real world", you would rarely get an opportunity to ride a SuperSport (ie. a Gixxer) or a HyperSport (ie. a Busa) to it's maximum speed, unless you are a VERY good rider (because of the way humans learn, you are NOT a VERY good rider unless you have been racing bikes since before your 10th birthday).
People can ride what they want, but in my opinion, a GSX650F will do everything you would probably ever need (except ride two up with full gear over very long distances, or do serious track riding).

Its a cool little bike and great videos , how smooth is that road on the Pass video.
They are sold as a LAMS {learner aproved motorcycle} here in OZ ,they only come out last year and only seen one yesterday ,the problem is they are to expensive ,about $11,000 rideaway. And our LAMS 650F is about $10,500 rideaway. Comparing sort of the same bike the Suzuki GS500 is $7,700 rideaway....$2700 cheaper.but maybe not as good looking and the honda may have better specs.

The CB400SF is expensive (would cost about the same as Honda's CBF600). That is why they don't bring them to Europe, or the Americas (except older "grey models"). They are built in Japan (unlike some other Japanese branded bikes where the parts are made in other countries).
Even with the expense, they appear to be so much fun, I would buy one, if they imported them here.

Driving fast in a straight line is boring..but reaching the apex and rolling on the throttle with a liter is awesome. The CB400 looks fun but the price is just not worth it.
I agree with you on the 650F, I like it for long, multi-day and seems to work well for camping but only 1-up. The passenger seat is perfect for my kids to ride around with me where they don't really like to ride around on the CBR1000.
Great vid, thanx for posting. Is it just me our does the rider seem to have some issues holding his lines in the corners?
