New fully faired Divvy for 2010, set to go head to head with the GXSF. could be interesting, it's a little less powerfull and a little more expensive but I think it looks quite pretty

Thoughts and feelings?

Looks good and gets good reviews ,not great like ours.
As you said it costs more and really gets talked up as a learner bike and commuter ,where ours is a sports tourer.
Great for a beginner rider as its lighter 212 WET ,that's a good thing ,but where ours still gets more experienced riders and people that have had many many bikes and keeps them very happy.

So IMHO ,it will compete with ours for the learner market ,but not get much of a second look for the other parts of the market .... ,returning riders ,people on a budget ,a do it all bike , sport tour riders .

It's a cool looking bike but the reviews it gets are mixed, to get good progress it has to be ridden on the red line all the time apparently and feels gutless elsewhere. If it had 90hp instead of 76ish it would be better. Not hard considering it's based on a 120hp r6 engine.

Interesting. Not a bad looking beast at all, but all in all, it'd have to be a hell of a bike to get me off of the GSXF.

It was compared to the GSX in Bike Oct issue (UK). It tied for second place after first place Shiver GT (unreliable). Revamped Ninja 650 got last place. Engine is weaker and needs more revving, but is also very smooth. SUspension while simple is better than GSX. It is more flickable than the GSX and looks are in the eye of the beholder. Agree with sleddog comments about the Divi (FZ6R) being more for females/shorter/beginner riders. Either are great bikes and superb deals.

Hi Dankatz.

One thing I did see while searching the net for some thing ,I stumbled on the FZ6"R" forum and had a bit of a look and checked the forum out for awhile ,all seemed very happy with the bike :D ,but I did notice ALOT seemed to want to lower the bike ,the FZ6R has low height as it is . :?
Only 5 mm shorter then ours ,but the seat looks not as wide on the "FZ6R or Diversion" ..which ours is ,making it seem higher. :?

The FZ6R is definitely lower - I saw on one at the NY International motor show. You are right about the width - it is pretty narrow. You should check out the US yamaha site: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/produ ... image.aspx The white bike with red seat looks awesome! I also think it is nice how they stole the Bandit's idea with adjustable seat and handlebars. They revamped the FZ6 motor totally and chopped off 20hp, but up to 6-8k rpm the FZ6R has more power/torque. The GSX trumps both when it comes to low-mid level power.

Yeah it looks great 8) ,that site is much better to check it out then the first pics we seem .
I like the lines of the bike ...split seat ...black motor and no canon pipe like ours and alot lighter.

It a tough choice for a new riders these day with the bikes available ,but the bikes are SO SO SO SO MUCH BETTER then a few years ago when I brought my first bike.
