Hi.

Do you think Suzuki will make 650 F in yellow next year? I shure hope so , I will be in line for one or waiting for slighty used . I bought my first bike 2001 Bandit 600 in blue ( very nice color ) and then in 2003 yellow came out, I was I WANT ONE but never bought it. So what you think?
Chris

Would be on the hot side like the Blue /White combo. I remember seeing the yellow black on the i think 01 GSX R 600 very racy.

I do hope some of the mods this forum has done becomes standard or options for the 650, just change colors is not enough.

Do you think the 2012 model will come with a facelift ??
Like the all new (... all ??) V-Strom

If I can tell Suzuki what must change , it will be

-New dash, with coolant temperature gauge and permanent clock extra
-2 boxes with lid in the fairing and 12V connector (like Bandit 2009->)
-New headlight, with projector low-beam, like GSXR 2010
-Indicators in mirrors
-New indicators at the rear
-New slim tail with LED light
-Hugger
-ABS on all models
-Centerstand
-.......

Suggestion for bandit/GSXF Get rid of the drive chain, give us a cardan shaft

Its not even 4 years old and the running gear {from the older bandit 650} had a major upgrade befor it was made into the GSX650F and its a value for money bike ,I don't think they will change any thing at all ,just colours.
Look at the GS500F ,Same bike for years and years.
The SV650 ,Same again not many real changed for years .
The Hyabusa, small changes ,but nothing you would really worry about.
The bike is selling well and till it starts to get old and sales slow ,they will just leave it ..IMHO.

How you say that in english? Uuuuuuuuuuuuu- I know FAT CHANCE . Seriusly to early for that , bandits used to be redesign about every 5 years I think. But I might be wrong and Suzuki make new and improved GSX650F next year.

i agree with sled, odd with gas price high , yet motorcycle industry is getting clobbered. So u might see yellow, what i would like to see is a sparkle green with gold rims oh ya. I do like Lampie's list the rear hugger is what got me with all the good body work then no hugger looks naked.and my favor that DAME oil cooler being left out. Be interesting if Sleddog did a pole on what might be added or changed on the next year 650f??

f104,

I agree, I find it odd motorcycle sales aren't better than they are - oil prices are only likely to rise in the future, as all the "easy" oil is replaced by difficult/expensive stuff (drilling in the antarctic?). Perhaps a couple of years ago when folk (like me, who'd always had an interest in motorcycles) finally put their dollars on the table as fuel prices rocketed found motorcycling all too hard; it can be.

Of course, with the financial world the way it is, investing in something that may only be a little better than current - and for a dwindling market - will be forefront on Suzuki's mind. My tip, FWIW, not much change for some time to come.

Cheers, Matt
Gloomer and Doomer! :)

Hi Matt one other point on the very soft sales of motorcycles, most riders are OLDER, meee 50 OMG.

Meeee still kinda like a teeeenanger funny hu, surf, ice hockey, ice dance, well no more ice hockey the female partner says no. yep she's the Boss,
and she very concern about my safety yet she like the 650 saves on gas, and big time saver for commuting.

Anyway a lot less younger riders, it is a troubling sign, motorsports a great way to save money on transportation, a sportbike will keep u in shape too.
whats your IMO, of why less new young riders, others can chime in too.

Hi f,

Maybe just a timing thing... Parents (both) are working longer these days to pay for stuff they don't really need, so generally don't have the time for the "motorcycle thing" (a mum's hardly going to use a bike to drop their kid off at school, then commute to work). So no motorcycle in the family means no "rub-off" factor on the kids.

Also, while motorcycles continue to offer great value - purchase price wise - motorcar prices continue to plunge. And what's more attractive to a teenager that hasn't been brought up around motorcycles; an all-weather cruise-mobile that'll carry your mates, or a one-up machine that saves a few bucks on fuel and everyone says you're going to die?

On a personal note, every Sunday morning I spend an hour with my 16yo behind the wheel of our 5-speed Lancer. No way she's ready for peak-hour Monday morning traffic. And frankly, I'll be dis-wading her from motorcycles (should she ever find the inclination) for as long as that endless bloody "commuter grand prix" continues. Too many people in too many cars (and trucks) to make a mess of her at the moment.

Still, it's kinda nice to be part of a niche. :)

Cheers, Matt

To some extent I agree that a rider should have a very strong driving foundation, road knowledge and confidence before getting a bike. 2 weeks ago, on 3 seperate occasions, drivers nearly merged into me while I was riding. I was commuting to work at the speed limit but either the bike is too quiet and/ or people have more important things to do while driving like... texting and talking on their phone. Yes, I did kick the door of that white Honda sedan to get her attention rather than be run off the road.
