Well i tried to search with not much result! I just ordered a 16t front sprocket. Im sure i can change it out. But thought i seen a thread on here a few years back with a great tutorial with pics. Can anyone link me to that thread? thanx in advance for any help.

Couple things.
Make sure to mark the shift linkage with a Sharpie prior to pulling the rod off the splined shaft, so you know what position it was in when reassembling.
Use thread locker when reinstalling the sprocket nut.
Engaging and clamping the clutch lever is not necessary. It only makes reinstalling the slave cyclinder harder. Just be sure not to touch the clutch lever while everything is disassemebled so you don't eject the piston from the slave.
Pull the clutch rod, it just slides out, so you can clean it and grease the ends.

Yes I love the bigger front sprocket on mine too. The nut holding mine on was seriously wrenched on there though, took a torch and a 2ft beaker bar to snap that sucker free! I didn't bother with the thread locker when installing the new sprocket though, the bolt will keep itself tight without any extra gunk. It's always good practice to reapply threadlocker though and it'll give you peace of mind. All in all it's a simple process and for $10 a larger sprocket is arguably the best bang for your buck on these bikes.

I used a cheapo 1/2" impact wrench from Walmart. I have a small 2 gal. pancake tank compressor, worked fine, less headache than the breaker bar. For $100 total for the compressor and wrench it was worth it for making the job so easy. I'd also mark where your rear wheel was. Technically the bigger sprocket should bring it in from the prior marks, but the amount is small, and marking it will give you a ball park of where to be when adjusting the chain tension.
ok...im right in the middle of the job. i have the ols sprocket off and notice that there is a rubber gasket like ring on both sides of the old sprocket. the new has no rubber!! Did i buy the wrong sprocket? or is it ok? do i have to remove the rubber(not sure it comes off) gasket and put it on the new one?? Help!
