Would adding this end can require any additional mods, like recalibaration of FI etc., or can I just slap one on? And as I have a center stand, should I order the one for the Bandit 1250 to get the centre stand rest? Thanks.

They say you *should* run it on a Dyno after the exhaust changeover, ride and see. I am curious about the centre stand question, I have my eye on the carbon fibre r77...

I looked at the installation instructions for both GSX650 and Bandit 1250
Indeed the Bandit 1250 has the extra centre stand stop and the GSX650F version doesn't

Here are the PDF's for both exhausts.

get the one with the center stand bracket/stop since you have the center stand

Bung it on (about 15-30 mins work with basic tools) and ride.

Thanks guys. And from what I can see, it's really the same can, just with the stop,so the Bandit 1250 unit should be fine on the 650,right? Fit, performance etc. I can't find info on the inlet pipe diameter to be sure of the fit between the two bikes.

The stock muffler of a K8 GSX650F and Bandit 1250 is exactly the same part number. It WILL fit!

OK! One last question (I think). My bike's put away for the frozen winter so I haven't had a chance to look at it, but this is a simple bolt-on procedure, right? Like I can just un-bolt the factory muffler, don't have to cut it off or anything? Thanks again!

If you open the installation instructions PDF ( http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/images/prod ... 126207.pdf ) you know what to do or at least, whats required to do :D . I believe the Yoshi requires some drilling but am uncertain of it. Other R77 owners may give you some hints/tips.

I had looked at the pdf's you posted, thanks for doing that. Installation looks straightforward, I'm just not sure about getting the stock muffler off. I know on some bikes you have to cut the pipe, but not sure on the 650.

No biggie on the 650F.

Remove the exhaust clamp first, its being held tight with 12mm bolts/nuts IIRC.
Then remove the passenger footrest bolt. Since its alot of weight at a long distance a suggest keeping one hand holding the can up and 1 to remove the footrestbolt.
Then just use both hands/arms to pull the exhaust of all together.

Thats about it.

Oh and be sure that the exhaust pipe gaskets comes off as well. Its a round cork kind of gasket that sits between the exhaust pipe and the part were it slides over the manifold pipe.
Part number 5 in the picture

Well, I placed my order, even though it'll be too cold to work on the bike for another 2 months at least...but I can look at it in the box.

You won't regret it. Drilling a hole makes the muffler more secure from moving.

Well, it was a balmy 10C today here in Toronto and I had a spare hour, so I slapped it on. Fit like a glove, looks and sounds fantastic. And yes, I did drill for the rivet, so it's all good. Man, I can't wait to ride.

And just to clarify, I did order the Bandit 1250 part to get the tab for the centre stand rest and it works/fits perfectly.
