G'aw! it's so cute!
BTW. my cat converter has been forcibly removed from my header! If you ever get the chance mate? FORGET IT.
It is such an excercise in pain and frustration trying to cut through 3 different layers of steel, ect, I had no choice but to soldier on, as I'd cut it halfway in half to begin with, but seriously, it took my buddy an hour to TIG weld the header back together properly. It took me and a friend FIVE HOURS to successfully cut the header in half, and get the cat out, and fish out the burrs from the edges, and get the nasty packing out of all the crevices remaining, and then take the main header, and grind out most of the weld in the four exhaust runners because there's such a ridiculous bottleneck that it completely baffled me as to why anyone would've done that.
as it is, only, only do what I did, if you -really- want it. I'm not so sure I'd do it again if I knew what it would've entailed.

Enhanced slightly to show the bottleneck, one on the left I honed slightly with a dremel, I actually got it a lot closer than that, but I started worrying about dumb stuff like structural integrity and things...
I was thinking about grinding it ALL out, and having bob tig around the Outside to hold everything properly, but then the goofy exhaust flanges might do weird things, ect ect ect, so I slowed my roll on that front. Time will tell if I revisit the porting project.
Me, porting the header. haha... couldn't find any legitimate safety glasses, so, I guess that makes me a squid.

Thats a nice looking Pipe you got there NK!! Amazing how a new Exhaust Transforms the bike... it makes the bike sound like a monster more than the mouse or hairdryer as people like to say before! ;P

Hey Voided, even though it was a bitch to take the cat off, was it worth it? Sound wise? Just an idea I've been throwing around for a bit. More for shits and giggles really... Never heard of anyone actually doing it on this bike though...

well, it does shoot flames outta the muffler now on overrun hahahaha!
I have to get it tuned before I say anything, but it hasn't really picked anything up. I -feels- like it runs better on the topend, but 1/4 mile times aren't really improved. again, not tuned. could be way off.
supposedly it adds a lot of power though, lol. I just haven't seen any gains.

Looking at the Competition Werkes eliminator now, but not planning any more mods apart from a Ventura setup before Christmas... So far the only complaint about the Yoshi is from Mrs K: it wakes her up when I warm it up in the morning. Everyone else seems to love it, especially young ladies on the footpath

I run an unbaffled r77 and love it. Only a couple more horses, but a lot less weight and a LOT better sound. Looks good too.

Well here's an update I never thought I'd make:
The baffle is IN, and it's staying in for the next little while!
It seems the R77 is such a massive change that it runs WAY over-fuelled - I was getting too much popping, including just backing it off a touch on the freeway to hold speed! Purchased a new baffle and installed it at lunch today; still pops on the run-down like it should, but it's much more "under control". So until I get Power Commanded it stays - that's now jumped to the top of my mod list...
Disappointed I am at the loss of noise, but keeping under the radar for the next cuppla months ain't a bad thing either
